What is AdvancedMD (AMD)?
AdvancedMD (AMD) is the electronic medical record used by Rula, its patients, and therapists who contract with Rula. The AMD patient portal is different from the Rula patient portal - the below outlines which patient portal you should go to in order to complete certain actions.

- Viewing, canceling, and rescheduling appointments
- Replacing your existing provider

Creating your account
In order to access the AMD patient portal, patients must first complete account registration.
Click here to navigate to the AMD patient portal login screen.
Click the Register button under “Don’t have an account?”.
Enter your first name, last name, and email address, read and agree to the Terms & Conditions, then click the Register button.

You will then receive an email from SUD Specialty Group -CA, with the subject: Patient Portal Account Notification. In the email click the Create Your Account button.
Complete your account registration by creating and confirming a new password, entering your Date of Birth, reading and agreeing to the Terms & Conditions, then clicking the Register button.
- Remember, your date of birth must match the date of birth you entered when signing up for Rula.
Possible issues during account registration
Email invite timed out
If you see the below message when attempting to register your AMD patient portal account, your email invitation has timed out. Please follow the steps in the above section to register your AMD patient portal account and receive a new email.
Incorrect birthday
Remember, when registering your AMD patient portal account, the date of birth you enter during this process, must match the date of birth you entered when signing up for Rula (i.e., the date of birth associated with your Rula account).
If you incorrectly entered your birthdate when filling out your Rula sign-up forms, this will need to be corrected by Rula staff in AMD before they can log in and access the AMD patient portal.
