Rula’s in-network insurances and programs

Wondering if your insurance plan is accepted by Rula? This article will provide details about Rula’s insurance network and other programs.

What Insurance Plan does Rula accept?

Our insurance network is continually expanding.  If you have a question about a specific payer it is best to contact support@rula.com.

Rula works with the following insurers:

  • National payers: Aetna, Cigna (Evernorth), United Healthcare (Optum), and Centivo, including third-party administrators that utilize these networks.

  • State-specific payers: Anthem / Blue Cross Blue Shield companies, Kaiser Permanente of Hawaii, Kaiser Permanente of Southern CA, Health Net of CA (Managed Health Network), Lucet (formerly New Directions), Tricare West (CA), and Medical Mutual of Ohio.

Furthermore, a benefits check with your payer is the best way to validate that Rula accepts your insurance plan. We can help facilitate this check through our Verification of Benefits process.

Does Rula accept employee assistance programs (EAPs)?

We do not currently work with Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).

We understand that EAPs play a significant role in supporting mental health and overall wellness, and we are actively exploring options to integrate with EAPs in the future. Our goal is to expand accessibility to our services and accommodate a wider range of payment methods, including EAP programs.

Despite our current inability to accept EAP payments, we remain committed to providing exceptional care to all individuals in need of our services.

  • If you are interested in receiving care from Rula, we encourage you to explore alternative payment options, such as private insurance or out-of-pocket payments.

Does Rula support single case agreements?

We do not support single case agreements (SCAs).

SCAs are arrangements between an individual patient and their insurance company to provide coverage for services that are not typically covered under the patient's insurance plan. These agreements are negotiated on a case-by-case basis and may involve the insurance company agreeing to reimburse the healthcare provider at an agreed-upon rate for the specific service rendered to the patient.

While we understand that SCAs can provide a means for patients to access necessary healthcare services that may not be covered by their insurance plans, our current administrative and billing processes do not accommodate the complexities associated with SCAs. As a result, we are unable to accept SCAs for our services at this time.

Does Rula support discounted or sliding scale rates for patients?

We do not have a sliding scale at this time.

A sliding scale fee structure is a flexible payment arrangement that adjusts the cost of healthcare services based on a patient's income and ability to pay. While we recognize the importance of making healthcare services accessible to all individuals, our current administrative and billing processes do not accommodate the complexities associated with implementing a sliding scale fee structure.

  • We do currently offer payment plans for clients that may accumulate a balance or have financial obligations that do not allow them to settle a balance at once.
