Scheduling an appointment for a new type of care

If you’re interested in exploring a different type of care (such as individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, or medication management/psychiatry), you can explore providers and book your intake appointment from the Rula patient portal.

Interested in adding in-person therapy appointments? This process can be used for telehealth and in-person individual therapy for eligible states. You can learn more about in-person care in this help center article.

How to add a new care type and provider

  1. Log in to the Rula patient portal.
  2. You can add a new provider to your care team in two places:
    1. From the Care Team tab.
    2. From the Appointments tab.
  3. From either page, click the Add Provider button at the top.
  4. Choose the type of care you would like to add, then click Next.

  5. You'll be directed to a page where you can browse providers. Use the filters to set your preferences and availability to narrow the search results.
    •  If you are looking for in-person individual therapy, you will be able to see how far therapists are from you.

  6. Click View profile to open a provider’s full profile, where you can find more details about them (their bio, specialties, and more).
    • If they meet your needs, select a date and time for your first visit under "Book your session". If they’re not the right fit, click Back to keep browsing.
  7. Once you've selected a provider and booked a session, your new provider will now appear under the Care Team tab.
