Managing a minor's care through the Rula patient portal

Most parents/guardians of minors who receive care through Rula can use the Rula patient portal to manage their minor’s care without needing to contact Rula Support. This video will review the step-by-step process and provide a video demonstration on how to link a minor's profile to your account in order to manage their care.

This video reviews how to manage your minor's care and how to access and navigate the patient portal.

Linking a minor's profile to your account

1. Log in to the Rula patient portal
2. Enter the parent/guardian email address associated with your minor’s account and click Continue with email. 
   
3. You will then see a screen to check your inbox for a sign-in link.
4. The subject line of the email is Here’s your link to sign in to the Rula Patient Portal. To login, click the purple Sign in now button.
5. The first time you log in, you'll be asked to verify the account by entering the phone number associated with the parent/guardian on your minor’s account and click Verify.
6. Once the phone number is verified, you will click Link profile to connect the Rula Patient Portal account to your minor’s profile.
7. You will then be asked to verify your minor’s first name, last name, and date of birth and select Verify. The information you enter must match what is listed in Rula’s system.
   
8. Once verified, you will click Parent/guardian sign in for the minor who's care you manage on the Choose a profile page. 
9. If you manage the care of multiple minors, you can link another profile by clicking Link their profile and following the same process.
   1. Please note, you will need to have a different patient email on file for each minor to be able to manage multiple minor accounts. The parent/guardian email may be the same.

Once signed into your minor’s account, you can use the Rula patient portal to:

• Contact their therapist- Patients may only message their current therapist through the portal.
• View, cancel, and reschedule upcoming appointments- Learn how you can manage your own appointments through the patient portal.
• Viewing or requesting visit receipts- A step-by-step guide on how to generate and downloading billing statements and receipts through the patient portal.
